MakeUpMyRoom is a partner integration available in RMS that connects your property to a real-time housekeeping operations platform, enabling automated room status synchronisation and improved housekeeping coordination without disrupting existing RMS workflows.
Overview
The MakeUpMyRoom (MuMR) integration enables RMS properties to connect with the MakeUpMyRoom housekeeping operations platform via the RMS REST API. Once activated in RMS, the MakeUpMyRoom team uses the supplied RMS Client ID and Webservice Password to establish the connection from their side and configure data flow between the two systems.
Once connected, MakeUpMyRoom retrieves live reservation, guest, and room data from RMS and synchronises housekeeping status updates - such as dirty, clean, and inspect - back to RMS in near real time.
This provides an operational intelligence layer for housekeeping teams, improving coordination between front office and housekeeping staff while RMS remains the system of record for reservations, guests, and room status.
The integration is available globally and is especially beneficial for properties with 40+ rooms that want to reduce housekeeping labour costs, improve room turnaround speed, and gain clearer visibility into room readiness.
Before you begin
Before connecting MakeUpMyRoom, make sure you have an active or planned subscription with MakeUpMyRoom, access in RMS to activate modules from the Module Market and submit a support ticket to RMS Customer Support.

Benefits & Features
- Reduces manual housekeeping coordination by automating task allocation and room status updates based on live RMS data.
- Improves room turnaround speed with real-time visibility into which rooms need attention and their current status.
- Reduces morning allocation time for housekeeping managers by automating task distribution.
- Gives front desk staff confidence in room readiness through synchronised status updates between MakeUpMyRoom and RMS.
- Supports multi-property environments, making it suitable for hotel groups managing housekeeping across multiple sites.
- Does not modify reservation, guest, or financial data in RMS — the integration is focused purely on housekeeping operations.
Things to Be Aware Of
- MakeUpMyRoom is a partner-built integration — it is developed and maintained by Make Up My Room Pty Ltd using the RMS REST API. For integration-specific issues, contact MakeUpMyRoom support directly (see Support & Escalation below).
- Reservation visibility in MakeUpMyRoom is dependent on room allocation in RMS. Unallocated reservations will not appear in MakeUpMyRoom until a room is assigned.
- MakeUpMyRoom does not retrieve, calculate, or modify rate data, financial transactions, folios, or payment workflows.
- A 5-day stabilisation window is required after initial configuration before going live. During this period, MakeUpMyRoom and RMS data must reach 100% alignment.
- Room types, room numbers, and status codes must be fully configured in RMS before enabling the integration.
For example, when a guest checks out, MakeUpMyRoom can use live RMS reservation data to schedule a cleaning task against the assigned room, then sync the housekeeping status back to RMS once complete.

How to Use
Day-to-Day Housekeeping Operations
Once the integration is live, housekeeping operations are managed within the MakeUpMyRoom platform while RMS remains the system of record.
The typical daily workflow is as follows:
- MakeUpMyRoom automatically retrieves the latest reservation and room data from RMS, including new check-ins, check-outs, and room changes.
- Housekeeping managers use MakeUpMyRoom to view room statuses, allocate tasks, and prioritise rooms based on early arrivals, VIP flags, and departure schedules.
- Housekeeping staff update room statuses (dirty / clean / inspect) within MakeUpMyRoom as tasks are completed.
- Status updates are synchronised back to RMS in near real time, updating the Clean Screen and Booking Chart so front desk staff can see current room readiness.
Monitoring Room Status in RMS
Front desk and operations staff can continue to monitor room status directly in RMS as usual:
- Use the Booking Chart to see room readiness alongside reservation details.
- Review the In/Out Movements screen for guest arrival and departure activity that drives housekeeping task creation in MakeUpMyRoom.
Using the Discrepancy List
MakeUpMyRoom provides a discrepancy list that highlights differences between the occupancy status and housekeeping status across both systems.
This is useful for identifying rooms where the status in MakeUpMyRoom does not match the status in RMS - for example, a room marked as occupied in RMS but shown as vacant clean in MakeUpMyRoom.
- Open the discrepancy list in MakeUpMyRoom.
- Review any flagged rooms and investigate the cause of the mismatch.
- Update the correct status in either MakeUpMyRoom or RMS as appropriate.
