Information on Wild Energy meter processing in RMS.
Overview
Utility meter processing in RMS provides the ability to read electrical, water, and gas meters to charge guests based on consumption.
With the Wild Energy integration, smart meter data flows directly into RMS, eliminating manual on-site meter readings.
This article covers all meter processing functions, including reading meters from reservations, processing meter reads in bulk, generating utility statements, and managing meter rates and additional fees.

Reservation Meter Reads
Meter reads can be processed against individual reservations. When the Wild Energy integration is active, meter reads are pulled automatically from the smart meters at key points during the guest stay.
Check-In Meter Read
When a reservation is checked in, RMS triggers a meter read from Wild Energy. The reading is entered automatically in the Previous section of the reservation meter screen.
Open the Reservation in RMS.
- Select Check In.
Check-Out Meter Read
When a reservation is departed, RMS pulls the current meter read from Wild Energy and populates the Current Read field.
Mid-Stay / Monthly Meter Reads
For long-stay guests or monthly billing cycles, meter reads can be processed at any time during the reservation.
Open the Reservation in RMS.
- Select the Meter Read icon (the lightning bolt icon).
- RMS will retrieve the current meter read from Wild Energy.
- Once populated, select Process Current Meter Read/Exit.
Bulk Meter Processing
Bulk meter processing allows you to read and process meters for multiple areas at once, rather than processing each reservation individually.
Bulk Meter Processing Tips

| Advanced Filters | Use the Advanced Filter options to display areas matching a selected date range. |
| Current Read Date | The Current Read Date cannot be set as a future date. Changing the date gives the option to apply it to all areas on the reading list. |
| Quick Navigation | Use the Tab key on the keyboard to quickly navigate between Current Read fields on desktop. |
| Utility Statements | A Utility Statement can be printed or emailed immediately after processing a meter read. |
