This article describes the Occupancy Report grouped by Booking Source, which shows occupancy and Tariff Quoted revenue figures rolled up per Booking Source for the selected period.
Overview
The Occupancy Report grouped by Booking Source shows one row per Booking Source with the count of reservations, nights, occupancy percentage, and revenue contribution for the selected date range. Use this layout to see which channels (direct, OTA, phone, walk-in, etc.) are driving the most bookings and revenue.
For the full description of the report, the report options panel, the Data Sources & Calculations that govern shared columns, and how the Operational Revenue model differs from Financial Revenue, see the main Occupancy Report article.
Use Cases
- Channel performance comparison - the Distribution Manager runs the report for the previous quarter with Occupancy By set to Booking Source to compare which channels (Direct, Booking.com, Expedia, phone, walk-in, etc.) produced the most reservations and revenue.
- OTA contribution analysis - quantify what share of reservations and revenue comes from Online Travel Agents vs Direct channels, useful for setting channel strategy or evaluating channel commissions.
- Marketing ROI review - when a marketing campaign drives traffic through a specific channel, run this report to measure the channel's reservation and revenue contribution for the campaign period.
