This article describes the Occupancy Report grouped by Rate Type, which shows occupancy and Tariff Quoted revenue figures rolled up per Rate Type for the selected period.
Overview
The Occupancy Report grouped by Rate Type shows one row per Rate Type, with the count of reservations, available and used nights, and the share of total reservations and revenue each Rate Type contributes for the period. Use this layout to compare rate-strategy performance side by side. The report title at the top of the output reads Occupancy By Rate.
For the full description of the report, the report options panel, the Data Sources & Calculations that govern shared columns, and how the Operational Revenue model differs from Financial Revenue, see the main Occupancy Report article.
Use Cases
- Rate-strategy comparison - the Revenue Manager runs the report for the previous month with Occupancy By set to Rate Type to compare which rates produced the most reservations and revenue.
- Distribution channel performance - when Rate Types are aligned to distribution channels (for example, Best Available Rate, Corporate Rate, OTA Rate), this layout shows which channels contributed the most occupancy and revenue for the period.
- Identify underperforming rates - rates with a low Used Nights or low % of Total share are candidates for re-pricing, repositioning, or retirement.
How to Access
In the side menu of RMS, go to Reports > Management > Statistics > Occupancy. On the Report Options panel set Occupancy By to Rate Type. Select Build.
