Set up a Nightly Rate Override Discount in RMS to cap the nightly rate for a specified number of nights, regardless of the original rate amount.

Overview

Nightly Rate Override Discounts let you create promotions that cap the nightly Rate for a set number of nights, regardless of the original rate amount. Any nights beyond the cap are charged at the original rate unless other discounts apply.

How it works:

• Enter the number of nights the cap applies to and the nightly cap amount.
• RMS applies a discount to each impacted night, reducing it to the specified cap for the selected number of nights.
• Remaining nights (beyond the cap) are charged at the original rate unless other discounts apply.

Example:
First 2 nights at $100 each, regardless of the original nightly rate.

Guide

Go to Setup > Accounting > Discounts.

1. Select Add.

   

2. Enter a Discount Name.
3. Choose Use Default GL Acc Code and select an account from the dropdown, or choose Use Targeted GL Acc Code.
   Select a Grouping (Optional).
   Enter the minimum and maximum Nights Stay length-of-stay restrictions (Optional).
4. Set the Discount Type to Nightly Rate Override.
5. In Options, enter the number of nights the cap applies to in the Up to the first field.
6. Enter the cap amount in Night/s with nightly charge of.
   Tick Include Additionals In Calculation if Additionals charges should be counted toward the cap (Optional).

   

7. Click Save.
8. Select the Discount Access and click Apply.
9. Navigate to the Property/Category tab.
10. Select the Property.
    Select the Category Grouping (Optional).
11. Select the Categories.
    Navigate to the Validation Options tab and click Add to limit when the Discount will be available (Optional).
12. Click Save\Exit.

Nightly Rate Override Discounts can be limited using:

• Minimum and maximum length of stay.
• Reservations staying within a specified date range.
• Reservations made within a specified booking window/date range.
