How to configure the Second Deposit, setup on the Derived Rate.

Overview

A Second Deposit can be used to obtain additional payment from a guest prior to their arrival, when the initial deposit is not set to full payment.

Second Deposits are an optional additional Deposit rule that can be enabled.

Deposits can be setup on a Rate Type, Derived Rate Type, Rate Type Property Rules, and Rate Tables in addition to the Online Deposit rules used by the RMS Booking Engine.

The Rate Hierarchy determines which deposit rules will apply to a Reservation.

Reservations made using the RMS Booking Engine will only use the Rate Type Deposit if the Online Deposit option is set to 'Rate Deposit'.

The Second Deposit Processing utility is available to process bulk payments for a second deposit from multiple reservations using an existing CC Token or Direct Debit information.

Guide

In the side menu of RMS, go to Charts > Rate Manager.

1. Select 'Rates'.
2. Select 'Rate Tables'.
   
    
3. Navigate to the 'Derived Rate' tab.
4. Select an existing Derived Rate Type.
5. Select 'Edit'.
   
    
6. Navigate to the 'Deposits' tab.
7. Select the 'Second Deposit' tab.
8. Select and enter the Amount to Charge.
9. Select an option for When to Pay.
10. Select 'Save/Exit'.
