How to set the Marketing Opt Out field to default to Yes.
Overview
The Marketing Opt Out fields on a Guest Profile are used to save a guest's preferences for receiving marketing material and can be set to default to opt out new guests.
The Marketing Opt Out field is set to 'Yes' when a guest opts out or unsubscribes from receiving marketing materials.
Triggered Correspondence, Report Writer and EDM campaigns can all be setup to include or exclude guests based on this selection.
Setting up the Marketing Opt Out field to default as 'Yes' will set the Marketing Opt Out on newly created Guest Profiles to automatically opt guests out by default until they select to opt in.
Additional Opt Out fields are available for setup as System Labels and can be used on the Guest Profile to further customise the type of correspondence a guest wishes to receive from the Property.
Guide
In the side menu of RMS, go to Setup > Property Options > General Information.
- Navigate to the 'Guest Options' tab.
- Select the checkbox 'Default Marketing Opt Out to Yes'.
- Select 'Save/Exit'.
