How to set a Housekeeping Task to ‘In Progress’ in the RMS Staff Portal.
Overview
Housekeepers can update Housekeeping Tasks to 'In Progress' status directly within the RMS Staff Portal using their Housekeeper Login.
Housekeeping Tasks automate the scheduling of cleaning requirements on reservations. When a task is marked as 'In Progress', a timer begins to track the time spent, measured against the task’s allocated duration. Tasks can be paused if necessary. Housekeepers must provide a reason, which will appear on the Clean Screen. Reasons must be set up in the Lookup Tables.
The total time taken to complete each task is recorded and reflected in the Housekeeping Productivity Report, providing insights into individual and team efficiency.
Usage Tips
The ‘Task’ view on the Clean Screen displays the current status of each task, including when a task is marked ‘In Progress’.
On touchscreen devices, users can swipe left on a task to quickly access the ‘Start’ button for faster task management.
Only one Housekeeping Task can be set to ‘In Progress’ at a time. A second task cannot be started while another is paused.

Log into RMS with a Housekeeper Login.
- Select Housekeeping.

- Choose an Incomplete Task.

- Select the 'Start' button.

- Select the 'Pause' button to temporarily stop the Housekeeping Task (optional).

- Enter a Reason.
- Choose 'Confirm' to Pause the task.

- Select Stop to Complete the task.
- Select Agree to complete, or Cancel to continue.
