The Attribute List report shows which Attributes are assigned to each Category and Area at a property.

Overview

The Attribute List report lists the Attributes held against Categories and Areas, so you can check the setup behind the Attribute filters used on the Booking Chart, the Interactive Map and the RMS Booking Engine. Attributes are customisable features such as Balcony, Accessible or Lake View.

The report reads Attributes from either the Area records or the Category records, and can group the output by Category and Area or by Attribute. It is typically run by staff who maintain Category and Area setup, and as a check before changing a Booking Chart or Booking Engine filter.

Before you begin, the Attributes need to exist and be assigned. Attributes are created in Setup > Lookup Tables > Attributes, where the Associated To field sets whether each one can be applied to a Property, a Category or an Area. They are then assigned to individual Categories or Areas in Setup > Category/Area. The Attribute List reports on those assignments, so complete that setup first.

Use Cases

• Audit Attribute setup before go-live - confirm every Area that should carry an Attribute such as Accessible actually has it assigned.
• Troubleshoot a missing booking filter - when guests cannot filter for a feature, check whether the Attribute is assigned at Category level, at Area level, or not at all.
• List every Area with a given feature - group the report by Attribute to get all Areas carrying it, for housekeeping or maintenance planning.

How to Access

In the side menu of RMS, go to Reports > Daily > Attribute List.

Tip! Select Add Report to Favourites Menu to add this report to the Favourite Reports menu for quicker access.

Report Options

The options below control which records the report covers and how the output is arranged. This report has no More Options panel, so every option is shown on the Report Options screen.

Tip! Report build screens default to a common use configuration, and selections can be made as required.

Column Headers

The Attribute List does not print a column header row. It prints a report header block that repeats the options used to build the report, then lists the data in a grouped layout. The fields below appear on the output.

Where Attributes come from

Attributes are created in Setup > Lookup Tables > Attributes. The Associated To field on each Attribute sets whether it can be assigned to a Property, a Category or an Area.

The Attribute must first be assigned to the Property through Property Information, making it available for allocation to the category or area.

An Attribute reaches this report through one of two assignment paths, and the Link Attributes With option decides which path the report reads:

• Category Attributes are assigned in Setup > Category/Area, by selecting Edit on a Category and using the Attributes tab. See Setup Attributes on a Category.
• Area Attributes are assigned in Setup > Category/Area, by selecting Edit on a Category, opening the Area tab, then editing the Area and using its Attributes tab. See Setup Attributes on an Area.

How Group By and Link Attributes With change the layout

Group By and Link Attributes With work together. Link Attributes With decides which records the Attributes are read from, and Group By decides which value becomes the grouping heading.

Grouping by Attribute is the quickest way to answer "which Areas have this feature", because every Area carrying the Attribute is listed together under it.

Please Note! When Link Attributes With is set to Category, the Area column is blank because the Attributes are being read from the Category record rather than from individual Areas. Set Link Attributes With to Area to see Attributes per Area.
