The Daily Rate Table, based on No of Days, determines the price for each day of a reservation by the day number in the stay, allowing the rate to change progressively as the reservation lengthens.
Overview
When a Daily Rate Table is set to No of Days, RMS charges a different amount for each day number in the reservation. Day 1 is charged at the Day 1 rate, Day 2 at the Day 2 rate, Day 3 at the Day 3 rate, and so on. This is different from the Daily - Per Day format, which applies one flat rate to all days regardless of how long the stay is.
No of Days pricing is useful wherever longer stays should attract a lower per-day rate - for example, a meeting room booked for three days at a lower rate than the same room booked for a single day, or a boat hire with a multi-day discount structure.
Rate Tables are Step 3 of the four-step rate setup chain: Rate Type > Rate Period > Rate Table > Rate Lookup. To make the Rate Type available for booking, complete the Rate Lookup step after saving the Rate Table. Alternatively, use the New Rate Wizard to complete all four steps in a single flow.
Prerequisites
- A Direct Rate Rate Type must already exist. The No of Days Based On option is only available under the Direct Rate structure. If your Rate Type is set to OTA Rate, the Daily format and No of Days option will not be available.
- A Rate Period must exist if you are using date-based pricing periods (optional for all-year-round rates).
Guide
In the side menu of RMS, go to Charts > Rate Manager.
- Select 'Rates'.
- Select 'Rate Tables'. The Rate Tables list opens as a modal overlay on the Rate Manager Chart screen.
- Select 'Add'.
-
Enter a Description.
Use a naming convention that includes the Rate Type name, the rental type or category, and the Rate Period (if applicable) - for example, Daily Meeting Room 2026 High Season or Boat Hire No of Days All Year. A clear name makes the Rate Lookup step easier.
- Select the Rate Structure as 'Direct Rate'.
- Select the Format as 'Daily'.
-
Select the Based On as 'No Of Days'.
The price grid on the right of the form updates to show individual rate fields for each day number in the stay: 1 Day, 2 Days, 3 Days, 4 Days, 5 Days, 6 Days, 7 Days, After 7 Days, and Last Day Charge.
-
Enter the Person Base.
The Person Base is the number of guests included in the base rate. Guests beyond this number trigger the applicable additional charge on the Additionals tab.
-
Enter the rate amount for each day number in the stay.
The price grid has fields labelled 1 Day through 7 Days (one per day number), plus an After 7 Days field for any day beyond the seventh. For example, if you set 1 Day = $200 and After 7 Days = $100, a guest who stays 10 days will be charged $200 for day 1, the day 2-7 rates for each of those days, and $100 for days 8, 9, and 10.
-
Enter the Last Day Charge (Optional).
The Last Day Charge sets a separate amount for the checkout day. If left blank, the checkout day is charged at the applicable day number rate.
-
Enter Length of Stay Restrictions (Optional).
Use the Minimum and Maximum nights fields to restrict which reservations can use this rate. For example, a minimum of 2 nights prevents single-night bookings from accessing the multi-day pricing.
- Select 'Save/Exit' to save the Rate Table and return to the Rate Tables list.
