Deposits can be used to obtain payment prior to a guests arrival to secure their reservation.
Overview
Deposit rules can be setup on a Rate Table to apply anytime that Rate Table is used.
Deposits can be setup on a Rate Type, Derived Rate Type, Rate Type Property Rules, and Rate Tables in addition to the Online Deposit rules used by the RMS Booking Engine.
The Rate Hierarchy determines which deposit rules will apply to a Reservation.
Second Deposits are an optional additional Deposit rule that can be enabled.

★ Tip: Deposits set on the Rate Table will override any set on the Rate Type. The Deposit amount set will be applied to newly created reservations using a Rate Type linked with this Rate Table in the Rate Lookup.
Guide
In the side menu of RMS, go to Charts > Rate Manager.
- Select 'Rates'.
- Select 'Rate Tables'.
- Select an existing Rate Table and choose 'Edit'.
- Navigate to the 'Deposits' tab.
- Select and enter When to Activate.
- Select and enter the Amount to Charge.
- Select and enter When to Pay.
- Select Save/Exit.
