Daily Rate Table: Day of the Week

Overview

A Rate Table defines the fee structure for a standalone rate and the calculation point for adjustments applied to a Derived Rate in RMS. The Daily Rate Table, based on the Day of the Week, determines the pricing for each reservation date according to the day of the week it falls on. 

Length-of-stay restrictions, additional guest fees, Dynamic Pricing rules, and package components can all be integrated into a Rate Table, with many of these elements configurable across multiple layers of rate components. 

★ Tip: The Last Day Charge sets the rate specifically for the checkout day, regardless of the day of week it occurs on.

Setup

A Daily Rate is intended for guests staying for the day, or for renting an item for a single day or a series of days, rather than overnight. A Rate Type and Rate Table can only be linked in a Rate Lookup if they are set up within the same rate structure. 

⚠ Important: The Daily Rate Table, based on the Day of the Week, must be configured under the Direct rate structure.

 

Navigate to Charts > Rate Manager.

  1. Select the 'Rates' icon.
  2. Choose Rate Tables.

  3. Select 'Add'.

  4. Enter a unique Description.
  5. Select the 'Direct Rate' Structure.
  6. Choose the 'Daily' Format.
  7. Select 'Day of the Week' for Based On.
  8. Enter the Person Base (the number of people included in the rate below).
  9. Input the Daily Rate Amounts.
  10. Enter a Last Day Charge (Optional).
    Configure any additional Rate Features in the tabs on screen (Optional).
  11. Select Save/Exit.

⚠ Important: Creating a Rate Table does not make the rate bookable. To activate the rate, the Rate Table must be linked within the Rate Lookup or through the New Rate Wizard.

 

Day of the Week Rate Calculations

Based on the Rate Table below, a four-day reservation arriving on Thursday and departing on Sunday will incur the following charges:

  • Thursday (Arrival Day): $100
  • Friday: $150
  • Saturday: $150
  • Sunday (Departure Day): $0

Total Rate: $400

✎ Please Note: Although a rate is listed for Sunday, the guest is not charged for the day of departure. If you intend to charge for the departure day, the Last Day Charge must be applied.
