Derived Rate Length of Stay Restrictions

How to add Length of Stay Restrictions to a Derived Rate Type in RMS.

 

Overview

Setting up Length of Stay Restrictions on a Derived Rate Type will override any set on the Master Rate Type, associated Rate Tables or overrides performed in the Control Panel to the Master Rate's length of stay restrictions.

Tip! Length of Stay Restrictions can be applied across multiple sections of RMS, offering maximum flexibility.

1. Lead Time MLOS applies when one of its tiers matches the number of days until arrival.
2. A Control Panel or Rate Manager minimum replaces the rate's minimum, even when it is lower. The Control Panel and Rate Periods do not set a maximum.
3. Only when 'Set New Min/Max Nights' is selected on the Derived Rate Type, or 'Set Min/Max Nights' on its Property Rule. Its values then replace the Rate Table and Rate Period values. Without it, a Derived Rate Type uses the values of the Rate Type it is derived from, including that Rate Type's Control Panel MLOS, Lead Time MLOS and Soft Close.
 
Minimum and maximum nights are worked out for the reservation's arrival date. A Soft Close on any night of the stay raises the minimum when it is higher.

 

Guide

In the side menu of RMS, go to Charts > Rate Manager.

  1. Select 'Rates'.
  2. Select 'Rate Types'.

  3. Navigate to the 'Derived Rate' tab.
  4. Select an existing Derived Rate Type.
  5. Select 'Edit'.

  6. Select the checkbox 'Set New Min/Max Nights'.

  7. Navigate to the 'Min/Max Nights' tab.
  8. Enter the Length of Stay Restrictions.
  9. Select 'Save/Exit'.
