Configure Minimum Length of Stay (MLOS) restrictions based on lead time so that minimum stay requirements change depending on how far in advance a reservation is made.
Overview
The Minimum Length of Stay (MLOS) based on lead time is a length of stay Control Panel restriction that sets a minimum stay requirement based on lead time.
Lead time is the number of nights or hours between when a reservation is made and the arrival date or time of that reservation.
A Lead Time MLOS restriction can be:
Set permanently or for a specific date range, and
Tiered, so multiple MLOS rules apply over the same date range based on different lead-time thresholds.
Lead Time MLOS restrictions apply to reservations created directly in RMS and via supported online booking channels (excluding OTAs connected via the RMS Channel Manager – see note below).
Examples
The following example shows a tiered Lead Time MLOS configuration:
For booking(s) made less than, or equal to, 1 night from arrival, the MLOS restriction is 1 night.
For booking(s) made less than, or equal to, 7 nights from arrival, the MLOS restriction is 2 nights.
For booking(s) made less than, or equal to, 999 nights from arrival, the MLOS restriction is 5 nights.
With the above rule in play:
A booking made 1 night from arrival (lead time ≤ 1 night) allows a 1‑night minimum stay.
A booking made 2–7 nights from arrival (lead time between 2 and 7 nights) requires a 2‑night minimum stay.
A booking made 8+ nights from arrival (lead time of 8 nights or more) requires a 5‑night minimum stay.
This illustrates how different lead‑time ranges map to different minimum lengths of stay.
