Fixed Reservations are reservations that have been marked to indicate the Area should not be changed. This article contains the steps to set a Reservation as “Do Not Move” in RMS.
Overview
Fixed Reservations are reservations that have been marked to indicate the Area should not be changed. When a reservation is set to Fixed, the Area is effectively “locked” and cannot be moved on the Booking Chart without first removing the Fixed status.
This article explains what a Fixed Reservation is, how it displays, and how to set or remove the Fixed status.
What is a Fixed Reservation?
The Reservation Screen provides central management of individual bookings and their guests in RMS.
Setting a reservation as Fixed means:
- The Area on the reservation cannot be changed while it is fixed.
- A black square icon displays on the Booking Chart to indicate the reservation is Fixed.
- If the reservation does need an Area change, the fixed status must be removed first.
How Fixed Reservations Display on the Booking Chart
On the Booking Chart:
Fixed Reservations display a black square icon.
The reservation cannot be dragged to another Area while it is fixed.
Users who hover or open the reservation can view the Fixed field in the Data Window or Reservation Screen.
If a reservation appears fixed on the Booking Chart but the Fixed field shows No in the Reservation Screen, contact RMS Support for assistance.
Setting a Reservation as Fixed
-
Open the reservation in RMS.
Use Reservation Search or select the booking directly from the Booking Chart.
On the Reservation Screen, locate the Fixed field or toggle.
Set Fixed to Yes.
Save/Exit the reservation.
Once saved:
The reservation will display the black square icon on the Booking Chart.
The Area cannot be changed unless the fixed status is removed.
Removing Fixed Status to Change Area
If the Area needs to be changed:
Open the reservation in RMS.
Set Fixed to No.
Save the reservation.
Change the Area as required (from the Reservation Screen or by moving it on the Booking Chart).
If necessary, set Fixed = Yes again and Save.
