Configure online payment methods, guest fees, and Interactive Map surcharges for the RMS Booking Engine.

Overview

The Payment Options/Fees tab controls which credit cards are accepted for online payments, which payment gateway is used for online bookings, and any optional guest reservation fees or Interactive Map surcharges you want to charge to guests.

From this tab, you can:

• Choose which credit card types are accepted for online payments.

• Set an alternate Payment Gateway for online bookings, if different to the property’s front desk gateway.

• Configure an optional Guest Reservation Fee.

• Configure an Interactive Map Area Selection Surcharge for guests who choose their own site or area using the Interactive Map on the RMS Booking Engine.

Available Credit Cards will display all credit cards set up in the database, so you can select which ones can be used online.

An alternate Payment Gateway can be configured specifically for online bookings if it differs from the gateway used at the property front desk.

The Audit Trail tab keeps a record of any changes made in the Payment Options/Fees tab.

Interactive Map Area Selection Surcharge

The Interactive Map Area Selection Surcharge is an optional fee applied to reservations made via the Interactive Map on the RMS Booking Engine.

• Reservations made via the Interactive Map will be Fixed Reservations with an Online Travel Agent (OTA) Reservation Note recording the Area selected during the online reservation process.

• The Area Selection Surcharge can be configured as:

  • a Per Night dollar value,

  • a Per Stay dollar value, or

  • a Percentage of the Total Rate.

Configure Payment Options and Fees

1. Go to Setup > Online Bookings > Online Options in RMS.

2. Navigate to the Payment Options/Fees tab.

Configure accepted credit cards

1. Under Credit Cards, select the cards to accept for payment online and use the “>” icon to allocate them.

   • This option only displays the logos of the credit cards accepted. There is no card verification associated with this selection.

Configure Guest Reservation Fees (optional)

1. Select a Sundry Charge for Guest Reservation Fees.

   • Only a Sundry Charge with no Unit Price set will be available for selection.

2. Enter the Credit Card Commission (if applicable).

3. Enter the Online Reservation Fee (if applicable).

Configure Interactive Map Area Selection Surcharge (optional)

1. Select a Sundry Charge for Area Selection Surcharge.

   • Only a Sundry Charge with no Unit Price set will be available for selection.

2. Set the Surcharge Type (Per Night, Per Stay, or Percentage).

3. Enter the Surcharge Amount.

Configure the payment gateway for online bookings

1. Select a Gateway Provider for online bookings (if required).

2. Select the Online Channel Credit Card Storage option as required.

3. Select Save/Exit.
