Utility Meters enable users to record meter reads and charge for utilities on an Area. This article covers the setup required to use utility meters.

Information
- Utility Meters enable Users to record meter reads and charge for utilities on an Area.
- Meters can be setup with individual utility accounts for Electricity, Gas or Water with the option to create meter reading charges on the Accommodation Account.
- Meter Reads can be processed on mobile, tablet or desktop including printing or emailing Utility Statements.
Enabling Utility Meters
- Go to Setup > Property Options > General Information.
- Navigate to the 'Features' tab.
- Select the checkbox 'Use Electricity/Gas/Water Meters'.
- Select Save/Exit.
Activating Utility Meter Account Types

- Go to Setup > Accounting > Accounting Options.
- Select the Property (Optional).
- Navigate to the 'Account Screen' tab.
- Select the checkbox 'Split Account Required'.
- Select the checkbox 'Use Gas/Electricity/Water Account Types'.
- Select Charges to create on the Accommodation Account (Optional).
- Select Save.

Enabling Pay By Date on Utility Statements
The Utility Statement can be setup to include a 'Date Payable' a set number of days after the statement is generated.

- Go to Setup > Accounting > Accounting Options.
- If part of an Enterprise database, Select 'Default Settings' (Optional).
- Navigate to the 'Receipts & Statements' tab.
- Select the checkbox 'Show Pay By on Utility Statement'.
- Enter the Number of Days from Meter Read Date to be the Due Date.
- Select Save/Exit.
✎ Please Note: The Pay by Date will only be displayed on Utility Statements.
Meter Statement Notes and Email Body
- The Meter Statements Accounting Options enables customisation of Utility Statements to include an email body and notes that can differ per Property.
- Enterprise customers can set the default Utility Statements options and set alternate Utility Statements per Property.
★ Tip: After saving changes to the setup, Users should log out of RMS and then
Log back in to ensure the database updates and reflects the modifications.
