Meter Activation enables utility metering on multiple areas by assigning a meter rate, the last meter read and the rate multiplier.  This article contains the steps to activate utility metering in an area.

Overview

This article explains how to activate utility meters on individual Areas in RMS by assigning a Meter Rate, Last Meter Read, and Rate Multiplier to enable utility billing.

Information

• Utility Meters enable users to record meter reads and charge for utilities in an Area.
• Meters can be setup with individual utility accounts for Electricity, Gas or Water with the option to create meter reading charges on the Accommodation Account.
• Meter Reads can be processed on mobile, tablet or desktop, including printing or emailing Utility Statements.

Activating Meters on Areas

1. Go to Setup > Meters > Activation.
2. Select a Property (Optional).
3. Select a Category (Optional).
4. Select a Meter Type.
5. Select the 'Active' checkbox on an Area.
6. Enter the Last Meter Read.
7. Enter the Rate Multiplier.
8. Select the Meter Rate.
9. Enter the Meter Number (Optional).
10. Enter the Supply Capacity (Optional).
11. Select Save.
