Overview
A Pricing Model defines how rates are calculated, with some channels supporting multiple Pricing Models through the RMS connection. Channels that support multiple Pricing Models must have one selected in the Channel Connection setup.
Occupancy-Based Pricing
Rates are initially set for a single occupant in the room and are incrementally adjusted based on the number of guests. Occupancy-Based Pricing helps properties maximise occupancy by offering competitive, attractive rates for harder-to-fill rooms, particularly for smaller booking groups. This pricing model is most commonly used with occupancy-based targets.
The table below illustrates how the current nightly room rate can be adapted to a Person-Based model in RMS, enabling the use of Occupancy-Based Pricing on channels that support this model.
| Category | Nightly Room Rate | Base Rate (1 Person) | 1st Additional (2 People) | 2nd Additional (3 People) | 3rd Additional (4 People) | 4th Additional (5 People) | Thereafter (6+ People) |
| Standard | 120 | 80 | 20 | 20 | - | - | - |
| Luxury | 200 | 150 | 50 | - | - | - | - |
| Family | 350 | 230 | 30 | 30 | 30 | 30 | - |
Per Day Pricing
Rates are set based on the day of the week, rather than being directly tied to the number of occupants in the room. Prices can be adjusted throughout the week to reflect demand, offering attractive rates during periods of higher demand. Additional guest pricing can also be set for rooms that accommodate more guests.
The Per Day Pricing model is commonly used with revenue-based targets. The table below illustrates how this pricing model can be applied.
| Category | Person Base | Additional Guests | Mon | Tue | Wed | Thu | Fri | Sat | Sun |
| Standard | 2 | - | 120 | 120 | 120 | 155 | 175 | 175 | 115 |
| Luxury | 2 | 50 | 200 | 200 | 200 | 225 | 265 | 265 | 195 |
| Family | 4 | 60 | 350 | 350 | 350 | 375 | 395 | 395 | 320 |
Full Pattern Length of Stay
Minimum Length of Stay and Soft Closes are configured against the advertised rates to control guest arrivals and the length of their stay at the property. Both rate models (Per Day or Occupancy-Based) can be used with these restrictions to achieve the desired outcomes.
The Maximum Occupants Per Area set in the Category will determine the maximum occupancy rates sent to the channel.
