This article describes the Unsold Accommodation report, which shows your vacant accommodation for a selected period valued at a chosen Rate Type, so you can see the potential revenue held in unsold inventory.
Overview
The Unsold Accommodation report lists how many Areas remain unsold in each Category over a date range and values that vacant inventory at a Rate Type you select.
For each Category and date it shows the Rate, the number of Vacant Areas, and the resulting Unsold Revenue, with a Total for the period.
On the rendered report the heading reads Unsold Revenue By Daily (or Weekly or Monthly, depending on the View By option). Revenue and yield managers typically run it when planning the days or weeks ahead, to see where availability remains and how much potential revenue that availability represents.
Use Cases
- Plan the week ahead - the revenue manager runs the report for the next 7 days at the property's standard Rate Type to see how much potential revenue is sitting in unsold Areas and where to push availability.
- Target the right Categories - operations reviews Vacant Areas by Category for a date range to decide which Categories need promoting or releasing to channels.
- Compare unsold inventory across properties - on a multi-property database, the report is grouped by property to compare unsold availability between sites.

Data Sources & Calculations
Vacant Area
Vacant Area is the number of Areas in the Category that are not sold for the date. It reflects the property's availability for that date, so an Area that is occupied by a reservation is not counted as vacant. For more on how availability is derived, see Area Availability vs Category Availability and the Occupancy Calculation Rule.
Rate
The Rate is the tariff configured for the Category on that date under the selected Rate Type. If the selected Rate Type has no rate set for a Category, the Rate shows as 0 for that Category.
Unsold Revenue
Unsold Revenue is the Rate multiplied by the number of Vacant Areas for that period. For example, a Category with a Rate of 384 and 9 Vacant Areas shows an Unsold Revenue of 3,456 for that day (384 × 9). The Total column adds the Unsold Revenue across every period in the range, so the same Category across 3 days totals 10,368 (3,456 × 3).
