Information on how to connect and use an Adria Scanner in RMS.
Overview
The Adria Scanner integration allows properties to scan guest identification documents - such as passports, driver licences, and visas — directly into RMS using a physical Adria Scan hardware device.
Once a document is scanned, guest details such as name, document number, nationality, and date of birth are automatically populated into the relevant Guest Profile fields in RMS, reducing manual data entry and improving front desk accuracy.
What is the Adria Scanner?
Adria Scan is a passport and identity document scanning solution developed by Adria Scan Croatia. The hardware device reads identity documents optically and transmits the captured data to RMS via a TCP socket connection on port 56702. This allows guest information to be scanned and recorded directly against a guest profile or reservation, replacing manual entry.
The integration supports the following workflow:
- RMS opens a socket connection to the Adria Scan device on port 56702 and sends a scan request in XML format.
- The Adria Scan device receives the request and begins scanning the document.
- Once scanning is complete, the device sends the captured data back to RMS as an XML response.
- RMS parses the response and populates the relevant guest detail fields automatically.
Supported Document Types
RMS currently supports the following document types with the Adria Scanner integration:

Enabling the Module in RMS
In the side menu of RMS, go to Module Market.
- Select Available.
- Search for Adria Scan.
- Select the Activate toggle.
- Read the Terms and Conditions.
- Select Activate ID Reader.
Configuring Field Maintenance
After activating the Adria Scan module, specific fields must be visible in the RMS Guest Profile configuration. If these fields are not enabled, the scanner will connect but document data will not record correctly against the guest profile.
The required fields vary depending on the document type you intend to scan. Refer to the table below for the fields that must be active for each document type.

How to Enable Fields in RMS
In the side menu of RMS, go to Setup > Users > Field Maintenance.

Add the Scanner in RMS
In the side menu of RMS, go to Setup > Lookup Tables > Passport Scanners.

Select Add.
- Select the Property.
- Enter the Description.
- Enter the Device UR (provided by Adria Scan).
- Select Save/Exit.
Use Guide
Once the module is activated, Field Maintenance is configured, and the Adria Scan device is set up and connected, you can scan guest documents directly from within RMS.
Open the Guest Profile.
- Click on the 3 dots ( ⁞ ).
- Select Scan ID.
- Select the Scanner.
- Select the Document Type.

Select Scan.
Once the scan is complete, the guest's details will be automatically populated in the relevant fields.
Review the populated fields for accuracy and save the guest profile.
Photo ID Tab
When scanning documents, the captured image of the identity document is saved to the Photo tab within the Guest Profile. This allows the property to retain a digital copy of the scanned document.
Adria Hardware and Software
This process is managed by Adria Scan and must be completed prior to going live.
- An Adria Scan hardware device (purchased through Adria Scan).
- Adria Scan software installed and the licence activated on the local device or server.
- Network connectivity between the device running RMS and the Adria Scan device on TCP port 56702.
- SSL certificate installed on the local PC if required (Adria Scan will advise).

Contact the Adria Scan support team to arrange installation, licence activation, connection verification and support.
Once the hardware and software setup is complete, Adria Scan will verify the interface connection from their side as part of their standard procedure.
