How to Include or Exclude Package Items from Travel Agent and Wholesaler Commissions by using "Exclude in Commission Calculations"

 

Overview

You can include items in a Reservation or Rate by adding them as Package Components. This is a flexible way to bundle additional services or products with a reservation.

Travel Agents and Wholesalers often request a commission for the bookings they make. However, whether or not Packages are included in these commission calculations can vary.

When creating a Package, you have the option to select "Exclude in Commission Calculations." If this option is enabled, the cost of that package will not be included when calculating commissions for Travel Agents or Wholesalers.

âš  Important: The option of "Exclude in Commission Calculations" cannot be used when the package is sold via an Online Travel Agent (OTA), as OTAs only receive the Total Rate of a reservation and do not receive an individual package breakdown.

Guide

Packages can be added through: 

RMS Package setup screen (for a Rate Type, Derived Rate Type, Rate Table, or Reservation Account) showing a list of Package Components with one component selected, and the option Exclude in Commission Calculations ticked, indicating that the value of this package item will not be included when calculating Travel Agent or Wholesaler commissions.
