How to create a new Quote Reservation in RMS.
Overview
A Quote reservation in hotels refers to a provisional booking or price estimate provided to a guest before it becomes a confirmed reservation.
A quote is essentially an official price offer for accommodation. It shows the rates, dates, and conditions, but is not yet binding.
Quotes allow guests to review costs and policies before committing. They are often used when a guest inquires about availability but hasn’t yet confirmed.

Reservation vs Quote
- Quote - informational, non-binding, no payment required.
- Reservation - confirmed booking, usually requires payment or deposit, and guarantees the room.
Use Examples
- Corporate or group bookings where multiple quotes are compared.
- Guests are shopping around for rates before deciding.
- Travel Agents or event planners requesting formal pricing.
★ Tip: The 'Quote' button will not show on 'Confirmed' reservations or when the Default Reservation Status is set to 'Confirmed'. Setup > Property Options > General Information > Reservation Defaults > "Default Reservation To" = Unconfirmed or Quote
Requirements added on a Quote Reservation will not display on the To Do Chart until the reservation has been converted to Unconfirmed or Confirmed status.
✎ Please Note: Quote Reservation will need to be activated under Setup > Property Options > General Information > Reservation Options > "Use Quote Status"
⚠ Important: Quote Reservations do not subtract from available inventory until the Reservation Status is changed to 'Unconfirmed' or 'Confirmed'.
