Overview
From time to time, guests may need to change their plans and cancel a reservation. This guide will walk you through the process of cancelling a reservation in RMS, including how to apply a cancellation fee and issue a refund where applicable.

Applying a Cancellation Fee & Refund
- Go to the Reservations > Reservation Search.
- Enter the Reservation Number and click Search.
- Select the Reservation or Account Number.
- Open the Account for the reservation.
- Click Sundry Charge.
- Select the Cancellation Fee.
- Enter the appropriate Unit Price.
- Click Apply/Exit to post the charge.
- Navigate to the Corrections Menu.
- Select Refund.
- Choose the appropriate Refund Method.
- Confirm the Refund Amount.
- Select Process.
★ Tip: The reservation account should now reflect a zero balance, indicating it’s ready for cancellation.
Cancelling a Reservation
- Navigate to the Change Status icon.
- Select Cancel.
- Click Yes to confirm the cancellation.
- Choose a Reason for the cancellation from the list.
- Click the Apply icon to complete the process.
★ Tip: The reservation will now be successfully cancelled, and its status will display in red to indicate the cancellation.
