Overview
Hipcamp is an online booking channel that can be connected to RMS using the OTA REST API and the RMS Channel Connection. Once connected, Hipcamp and RMS exchange availability, rate, restriction, and reservation data automatically.
This article outlines the prerequisites for connecting Hipcamp, followed by a reference table of which data is sent and received between Hipcamp and RMS.

Preparing to Connect
The OTA REST API – Hipcamp module must be activated via the Module Market in RMS before completing the Channel Connection.
- In the RMS side menu, go to Module Market and activate the OTA REST API – Hipcamp module.
- Go to Help > Support Ticket from the main menu and submit a ticket requesting your RMS Client ID (also referred to as your RMS Client Number) and Webservices Password.
- Once RMS Support provides your RMS Client ID and Webservices Password, contact Hipcamp and provide both credentials. Hipcamp will use these to configure their side of the connection and will then provide you with the Hipcamp username and password to enter in RMS.
- After Hipcamp confirms the setup and provides you with your Hipcamp username and password, complete the Channel Connection setup for Hipcamp in Setup > Online Bookings > Channel Management.
Connecting Hipcamp to RMS
Once the OTA REST API – Hipcamp module is active and you have the required credentials, connect Hipcamp using the standard Channel Connection process.
- In the side menu of RMS, go to Setup > Online Bookings > Channel Management.
- Set View as to Unconnected (or All where applicable).
- Select the Hipcamp channel and choose Connect.
- On the Connection Information tab, enter the Hipcamp username and password provided to you after Hipcamp completes their side of the setup.
- Select the Availability, Rates & Inventory and Reservation Settings options appropriate for your property.
- Complete the room and rate mapping using either:
- Connect to Retrieve Categories, or
- Add Category/Rate Types and map the Hipcamp room and rate codes to your RMS Category and Rate Type combinations.
- Select Save/Exit when mapping is complete.
