We're introducing Pitch Mapping for the Pitchup channel. From 20 July 2026, you'll be able to link each of your Pitchup pitches to a specific area in RMS, so Pitchup can offer your guests reliable multi-night stays on the same pitch.
This is a straightforward, one-time setup. Your existing bookings, rates and availability are not affected, and nothing changes until you complete your pitch mapping.
This announcement answers the following questions:
What's changing?
From 20 July 2026, a new Pitch Mapping tab will appear on your Pitchup channel screen in RMS. Here, you'll link each individual Pitchup pitch to the matching area in RMS.
Once your pitches are mapped, RMS tells Pitchup which specific pitch is occupied whenever a booking is made, changed or cancelled in RMS, from any source. Pitchup uses this to keep your availability accurate for multi-night stays.
Why is RMS making this change?
Today, RMS tells Pitchup how many pitches of each type are available, but not which specific pitches. For single-night stays this is fine, but for guests booking several nights, Pitchup can't always guarantee the same physical pitch is free for every night of the stay. This can lead to overbookings and manual cleanup at your site.
Pitch Mapping solves this. By telling Pitchup exactly which pitch is taken and when, Pitchup can offer guests reliable, continuous multi-night stays and reduce the risk of overbookings.
What stays the same?
Your existing bookings: Not affected.
Your rates: Continue to send to Pitchup exactly as they do today.
Your existing channel mapping: Stays in place. Pitch Mapping is an addition, not a replacement.
Your Pitchup extranet: No day-to-day changes needed on the Pitchup side.
Nothing breaks when the feature turns on. Your integration keeps working as normal until you complete your pitch mapping.
What do I need to do?
When Pitch Mapping becomes available on 20 July 2026, your integration will keep running as normal, with no immediate action required. To start offering reliable multi-night availability, complete your pitch mapping using the steps below. We recommend doing this soon after the feature is available.
How to set up Pitch Mapping: step by step
Step 1: Open the Pitch Mapping tab
In the side menu of RMS, go to Setup > Online Bookings > Channel Management, select your Pitchup channel, and open the new Pitch Mapping tab.
Step 2: Refresh your pitch list
Click Refresh to pull your current list of pitches from Pitchup. Every pitch on your Pitchup account will appear as a row.
Step 3: Map each pitch to an area
For each pitch, select the matching RMS area from the dropdown. Areas are shown as Category - Area to make them easy to identify.
Step 4: Save
Once every pitch is mapped, hit the Save icon and then Save the channel.
From this point, RMS sends pitch-level updates to Pitchup as bookings are made, changed or cancelled.
Keep your mapping in sync: If you add, remove or rename pitches on your Pitchup extranet, return to the Pitch Mapping tab, click Refresh, remap as needed, and Save. Any pitch that has been removed on Pitchup will be flagged as Invalid so you can spot it easily.
FAQs
Do I have to set this up straight away?
No. Nothing breaks when the feature turns on, and your rates, availability and existing bookings are unaffected. However, you'll only get the improved multi-night reliability once your pitches are mapped, and you'll be prompted to complete mapping the next time you save your Pitchup channel. We recommend setting it up soon.
Will my rates and availability still send to Pitchup?
Yes. Rates and availability continue to send exactly as they do today. Pitch Mapping sits alongside your existing setup and does not change it.
What happens to my existing bookings?
Nothing. Your confirmed bookings are not affected by this change.
Do I need to do anything on the Pitchup extranet?
No, other than returning to RMS to Refresh and Save if you later add, remove or rename pitches on Pitchup.
Why do I need to map individual pitches?
So Pitchup knows exactly which physical pitch is taken for each booking. This is what allows Pitchup to guarantee the same pitch across every night of a multi-night stay, which the current type-level view can't do.
Who do I contact if I need help?
For help with the RMS steps (opening the tab, refreshing, mapping and saving), submit a support ticket and our team will assist you. For questions about your Pitchup extranet or booking data, contact Pitchup Support.
