A guide to setting up Booking Sources in RMS.
Overview
Booking Source is a Lookup Table that can be used to record and report on the source of a reservation.
Lookup Tables are user-created lists that can be used to record and report on additional information for Reservations.
A Booking Source can be set on a Guest Profile, Company, Travel Agent, Online Channel Connection or Rate Type to automatically populate on the Reservation.
Selecting a Booking Source as a 'Walk-in' will include Reservations with that Booking Source in reported 'Walk-in Reservation' figures on the Flash Report, Night Audit Statistics and Financial Exports.
A Booking Source Contact can be setup as the person for the purpose of correspondence related to that Booking Source.
The Marketing Report, Occupancy Report and Reservation by Lead Time Report all include options to view data by Booking Source.
Tip! The Booking Source field must be enabled in Field Maintenance to be visible on the Guest Profile or Reservation.
Please Note! A Booking Source can be set in several places (Rate Type, guest profile, Travel Agent, Company, or an online channel). When more than one applies, RMS fills the reservation's Booking Source in priority order: the Rate Type value first, then the guest profile, then a Travel Agent or Company (a Travel Agent or Company only fills the field when it is still empty). Once a Booking Source is recorded on a reservation it does not update automatically if the Company or Travel Agent is later changed, so adjust it manually if required. A Booking Source configured on an online channel is applied through that channel's linked Travel Agent.
Please Note! RMS is highly configurable. Some Terminology, User Access & Permissions, Images, Labels, and Functions used in these articles may differ from your setup. CLICK HERE to find out more.
