System Access Report

The System Access Report records all login attempts by Users, including their IP Address and whether access was granted. 

 

Overview

All User login attempts are timestamped and record the IP address from which the attempt was made.

User logins are recorded in UTC time (Coordinated Universal Time), and the report can be generated in the preferred timezone to view logins in local time.

Login records are retained for 365 days.

The report can be configured to display successful logins, failed attempts, or both and offers both Summary and Detailed display options.

Tip! The System Access Report will display all login attempts for the selected date range, including whether the login attempt was successful and the IP Address the user login came from.

How to Access

In the side menu of RMS, go to Reports > Management > Security > System Access.

  1. Select a Date Range.
  2. Select a Time Zone.
    Select a User (Optional) - if none are selected, all Users will be included.
    Select a Group By option (Optional).
  3. Select 'Build'.

Tip! Select the Star icon used to add Report to the user’s favourites list. icon to set a Report as a favourite.

 

Report Options

Report Option Type Default Description
Report Mode Radio Access Time Select Access Time to list all login attempts in the date range, or User Last Access Time to show each User's most recent access.
Access Between Date range Today The period the report covers.
Time Zone Dropdown UTC The time zone used to display login timestamps. Records are stored in UTC.
IP Address Text (blank) Limits the report to login attempts from a specific IP address. Leave blank to include all.
Action Dropdown All Filters by outcome - successful logins, failed attempts, or all.
Report Type Dropdown Summary Sets the level of output detail (Summary or Detailed).
Group By Dropdown (none) Groups the output rows by the selected value.
User Multi-select All Limits the report to the selected User(s). Leave blank to include all.

 

Column Headers

The report displays a chronological list of login attempts for the selected date range, shown in the selected time zone. Each row records the User account, the outcome of the attempt, and the IP address it came from. The default (Summary) view includes the following columns:

Column Description
Date The date and time of the login attempt, shown in the time zone selected when the report was built. Records are stored in UTC.
Username The User account the login attempt was made against.
Action The access event recorded for the attempt, including whether access was granted or denied. Action will display as either Successful Login or Failed Login.
IP Address The IP address the login attempt originated from.
