How to move an Area to an inactive Category in RMS.
Overview
An Area is a physical space available for reservation within a specific Category.
A Category defines the type of physical space available for a Reservation at the Property.
An Area cannot be deleted once a reservation has been assigned to it.
The Area would need to be moved to a Category which is set as inactive. By doing this, the Area is removed from view on the Booking Chart, but the historical reservations stay in place.
It is recommended that Statistics be disabled when an Area is no longer in use in the database.
✎ Please Note: RMS is highly configurable. Some Terminology, User Access & Permissions, Images, Labels, and Functions used in these articles may differ from your setup. CLICK HERE to find out more.
★ Tip: An Area cannot be moved to an Inactive Category if there are any future reservations or maintenance blocks. Use the Reservation List to locate the future reservations and\or blocks.
⚠ Warning: Changing the Category an Area belongs to in RMS will affect historical reporting including Operational Revenue and Statistics for both the original and new Category.
