Auto Guest Merge is a utility for managing Guest data and removes duplicate Guest Profiles with conflicting contact details.
Overview
The automated Guest Merge will run using the selected pattern match to merge duplicate Guest Profiles in RMS.
The Auto Guest Merge will default on with the pattern match selection of 'Surname + Email'.
Pattern Matches refer to the specific field combinations used to identify whether two or more Guest Profiles represent the same individual.
Depending on the information captured at the Property, a range of Pattern Matches are available for selection in the Utility.
RMS will merge the information on a Guest Profile with the highest Guest ID into the Guest Profile with the lowest Guest ID when a match is determined. This ensures that the most recent contact details are kept whilst retaining the full history of the guest at the property.
The guest merge utility will run during a low-impact time for your region, and the timing will vary depending on the number of records to process.
If manually running the Guest Merge Utility within RMS, the process will start immediately. Once started, the merge cannot be cancelled and may take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours to complete, depending on the size of your database.
Closing or logging out of RMS will not interrupt the merge process. We recommend performing any manual Guest Merges in the RMS Training Database before running them in the live environment.
An email will be sent to the System Administrator once the merge is completed, advising of the number of Guest Profiles merged.
Guide
In the side menu of RMS, go to Utilities > Guest Merge.
- Select the Pattern Match.
- Select the checkbox 'Auto Merge Enabled'.
- Select Save/Exit.
