Information on the Change of Business Ownership for clients using RMS.
Overview
RMS clients transferring business ownership to a new party must notify RMS Accounts of the upcoming change.
RMS Accounts will provide the RMS Change of Ownership form, which is required to process billing and setup adjustments ahead of the settlement date.
This form must be completed by both the outgoing and incoming owners and returned to RMS Accounts before active RMS subscriptions can be transferred.
✎ Please Note: Properties within an Enterprise and De-merging When a property within an Enterprise is sold and requires de‑merging, the outgoing owner must notify RMS Sales at least two weeks in advance, starting from the acceptance of the Sales Order and payment of the associated fees, to ensure the de‑merge can be completed. All costs associated with the de-merge will be billed to the outgoing owner.
⚠ Important: Not updating the Property Contacts, RMS Billing and RMS Users may result in the Outgoing Owner being contacted as an authorised party on the RMS subscription, being wrongfully charged for the RMS subscription or maintaining access to the RMS database after the settlement date.
Outgoing Owner
Outgoing Owners will need to complete the following to transfer the RMS subscription to the new owner:
- Complete and return the RMS Change Of Business Ownership
- Contact RMS Sales if access to the RMS database is required after the settlement date.
- Provide the Incoming Owner with User access to the RMS database on or before the settlement date.
★ Tip: Outgoing Owners who require access to a copy of the RMS database after the settlement date can contact RMS Sales for assistance. The database backup will be provided in SQL format. You'll need to contact your IT department for help with restoring the data on your side.
Incoming Owner
Incoming Owners will need to complete the following to transfer the RMS subscription from the old owner:
- Complete and return the RMS Change Of Business Ownership, including reviewing and agreeing to the RMS SaaS Terms & Conditions.
- On the Settlement Date the Incoming Owners will need to update the Contacts, RMS Billing and set the old owner's RMS User to Inactive.
- Update the system profile 'Manager' with the Incoming Owner's contact information and change the password.
- After the Settlement Date RMS Sales will contact the new owner to arrange complimentary training and review the RMS subscription details, including User Licences and Modules.
⚠ Important: The RMS Change Of Business Ownership must be completed by both the Outgoing Owner and Incoming Owner and returned to RMS Accounts before the active RMS subscriptions can be transferred.
