This article describes the Area Change report, which lists every reservation where the assigned Area or Category was changed within a selected date range.
Overview
The Area Change report shows all changes to the assigned Area on a reservation, including:
- Changes from No Area to Area Assigned
- Change of Area Assigned
- Change of Category
For each change the report shows the old and new Category and Area side by side, along with the reservation dates, tariff, and the user who made the change.
Use Cases
- Occupancy management - Review how often reservations are being moved between Areas and Categories to spot patterns in room allocation.
- Upgrade tracking - Identify reservations that were moved to a higher Category and see the reason recorded for the change.
- Audit of changes - Check which user made each Area or Category change, and when, for operational or training review.
Report Options
The report options below control the date range, grouping, sorting, and which reservations are included. The Group By and Sort By options are single-select dropdowns.

Report Columns
The columns below appear on the report output. Each row represents one Area or Category change on a reservation, showing the values before and after the change.

Area Change vs Area Move
- Area Change Report: Shows all reservations where the Area was changed, regardless of status.
- Area Move Report: Shows reservations where the Area changed after arrival (Arrived status), including Split Reservations.
Use the Area Move Report to track mid-stay moves and the Area Change Report for overall occupancy management trends.
