The Area Reservation List report shows all reservations occupying or arriving in a selected date period, grouped by area, with accommodation revenue and sundry charges summarised per reservation.
Overview
The Area Reservation List is a daily operational report that lists every reservation active during a chosen date period. For each reservation, it shows the assigned Area, guest name, arrival and departure dates, number of nights, occupant counts, accommodation rate, and sundry charges. A totals row at the bottom of the report summarises nights, occupants, and revenue across all reservations returned.
Because this is an Operational Revenue report, the Rate($) figure represents accommodation revenue apportioned to the selected period - not the charges posted to the reservation account. This means figures may differ from financial reports such as the Night Audit or Charge report. See Financial revenue vs Operational revenue for the full explanation.
Use Cases
- Daily room check - Front desk staff run this report each morning to see every occupied area, confirm guest names, and verify arrival and departure dates for the day.
- Revenue summary by area - Managers use the report to review accommodation revenue and sundry charges across all areas for a given period, without opening individual reservations.
- Group booking review - When the Sort By is set to Group Name, the report groups all reservations belonging to the same block together, giving a quick view of group occupancy and revenue.

Data Sources & Calculations
Operational Revenue
The Rate($) column uses Operational Revenue, which apportions accommodation revenue across the nights of a stay based on the rate charged per night. This differs from Financial Revenue, which reports on what has been posted to the reservation account.
For a reservation that spans multiple periods, Operational Revenue only counts the nights that fall within the selected date range - not the full reservation value. This is why figures in this report may not match the Charges or Night Audit reports for the same period.
For more detail on the difference between the two calculation methods, see Financial revenue vs Operational revenue.
