This guide explains how to configure commissionable rates for the G'Day Parks channel in RMS, including creating a Sundry Charge, setting up a Derived Rate, and mapping rates in the Channel Manager.
Overview
To send commissionable rates to G'Day Parks, RMS requires a dedicated Sundry Charge for the OTA commission, a Derived Rate linked to your existing rates, and commission rules mapped within the G'Day Parks channel connection. These three components work together so that G'Day Parks receives the correct rate and commission information for each booking.
Prerequisites
- The G'Day Parks channel connection must already be active in RMS. See G'Day Parks: Channel Information for connection setup steps.
- A General Ledger Account Code for travel agent or OTA commissions must exist, or be created, before completing the Sundry Charge setup.
- The rate you intend to use as the base for the G'Day Parks Derived Rate must already be configured in Rate Manager.
Step 1 - Create a Commission Sundry Charge
A Sundry Charge is required to record the G'Day Parks OTA commission on the reservation account. If you already have a Sundry Charge set up for this purpose, skip to Step 2.
Navigate to Setup > Accounting > Sundry.
- Select Add.
- Complete the following fields:
- Description - enter a name for the commission charge (for example, "G'Day OTA Commissions").
- Unit Price - leave blank.
- G/L Code - select your commission General Ledger Account Code. If you do not have a specific code for G'Day Parks, use an existing Travel Agent commission code or create a new one.
- GST Type - select Full GST Applies.
- Select Save/Exit.
Step 2 - Create a Derived Rate for G'Day Parks
A Derived Rate allows G'Day Parks to receive a rate based on your existing rate setup without requiring a separate rate to be maintained. The Derived Rate is mapped to G'Day Parks in the Channel Manager.
In the side menu of RMS, go to Charts > Rate Manager.
- Select the Rates
- Select Rate Types
- Select the Derived Rate tab
- Select Add.
- On the Derived Rate Setup tab, complete the following fields:
- Derived From - select the Rate Type you want G'Day Parks to use. The rates configured for this Rate Type should match the values displayed on the G'Day Parks site.
- Code - enter a short code to identify this Derived Rate.
- Derived Rate Type Description - enter a description. This is visible to guests.
- Derived Rate Charge Description - enter a charge description. This appears on receipts, invoices, and statements.
- Select Save (Do Not Exit).
-
Select the Allow Rate Type Access option and set the Include radio button for all available options. If you are unsure, Please visit Access Settings Article.
- Select the Adjustment Amount tab and configure the following:
- Adjustment 1 - select +Amount and set the value to 0.00.
- Select Apply to All.
- Rate Period - select Use Master Rate Periods if you are unsure.
- Select Save/Exit.
Step 3 - Map Rates in the Channel Manager
Once the Derived Rate is created, map it to G'Day Parks in the Channel Management setup. Each accommodation type and rate must be mapped twice - once for each rate variant (Member and Non-Member).
Navigate to Setup > Online Bookings > Channel Management.
- Select G'Day Parks from the connected channels list.
- In the Area/Rate Mapping section, update any row displaying (No Link) by selecting the relevant Category and Rate Type for each G'Day Parks room type.
- Ensure the No Update checkbox is not selected for any mapped row. If No Update is ticked, RMS will not send rate and availability updates to G'Day Parks.
- Select Save (do not exit).
Step 4 - Set Up Commission
With the mapping saved, configure the commission rules that apply to G'Day Parks bookings. Commission is set at the channel level within the G'Day Parks connection.
- In the G'Day Parks channel setup screen, select Add in the Agent Commission Setup section.
- Configure the following fields in the Commission Link dialog:
- Type - select Commission %.
- Sundry - select the G'Day OTA Commission Sundry Charge created in Step 1.
- Collect Type - select Agent.
- Commission - enter the commission percentage for each rate variant (Member and Non-Member) as advised by G'Day Parks.
- No Greater Than - enter $1,000,000.00.
- NET Booking Multiplier - enter 1.0000.
- Select Save/Exit.
