Updates to MYOB AccountRight Online RMS Connection: Update as of 25-Feb-2026
Overview
Effective March 2025, only the Administrator user of a MYOB company file (the original built-in admin user account, not any user with admin-level permissions) can approve OAuth 2.0 authentication requests. This update enhances security and aligns with best practices for data access permissions.
Refer to MYOB Documentation HERE.
To align with the above requirement, RMS has completed development work that is included in 9+ Version 11.26.56.1 or above.
Connection Changes for RMS Customers
When the 9+ Version 11.26.56.1 or above is deployed to Customer Environments (BETA, RC, Live), the customers have to reestablish the connection to MYOB by following the existing process of selecting the "paperclip" Connect icon
-
The user who establishes the connection between RMS and MYOB must be the Administrator user in MYOB (the original built-in admin user account on the MYOB company file). A user with admin-level permissions is not sufficient; only the user named "Administrator" can authorise the connection. This is a requirement from MYOB, and RMS can't control it.
Refer to MYOB Documentation: OAuth 2.0 Authentication Now Requires Admin Access
The user then has to choose the appropriate MYOB Company File and select "Connect."
Connection Guide
In the side menu of RMS, go to Setup > Accounting > Financial Interface
Select the Property (Optional)
Click on the "Linking" icon
This will take you to the MYOB Sign In page.
Enter the Administrator user's email address
Enter the Administrator user's password and select Sign In
A new page will open up asking the user to select the appropriate MYOB Company File
and select "Connect"
Connection Complete
Once the connection is successful, the user needs to return to RMS and select "Save" or "Save/Exit".
After the above, there is no change to the current procedures for the Export Build Process
