Category Accounting Setup

Overview

Rates in RMS can be configured to apply to a reservation account as either a Nightly Rate or a Total Rate.

If defined at the Category level, this will override the configuration in Accounting Options.

If all Categories at the Property follow the same Rate Creation method, it's recommended to configure this in Accounting Options for consistency and ease of management.

Any setup changes will only affect reservations saved after the changes are applied.

To update existing reservations, Users can use the Change of Rate Creation Method utility under the Tools menu.

Guide

In the side menu of RMS, go to Setup > Category/Area.

  1. Select 'Edit' on an existing Category.

  2. Navigate to the 'Accounting' tab.
  3. Select the 'Rate Type' setting.
  4. Select the 'Rental Type' setting.
  5. Select 'Save/Exit'.

✎ Please Note: After saving changes to setup, Users should log out of RMS and then log back in to ensure the database updates and reflects the modifications
