You should release an area from Maintenance when the maintenance task—such as repairs or upgrades—has been completed and the area is ready to be returned to service for guest use.
Overview
A Maintenance Reservation is used to take an Area offline, preventing new bookings while maintenance work is being completed.
Once the Maintenance Reservation is released, the Area status will change to Inspect, and a Maintenance Inspect Housekeeping Task will be triggered. This notifies Housekeeping that the area requires attention before being returned to service.
Why It's Important:
Availability: Releasing the area makes it available for new reservations and ensures accurate occupancy and availability reporting.
Operational Efficiency: It helps front desk and housekeeping teams stay informed and aligned on which areas are ready.
Revenue Impact: Keeping an area in maintenance longer than necessary can result in lost revenue opportunities.
Reporting Accuracy: Ensures that operational and maintenance reports reflect the correct status of each area.
Always verify that all necessary work is complete and inspected (if required) before releasing the area to avoid guest dissatisfaction or safety issues.
