MYOB AccountRight Desktop Financial File Import

This article explains how to import a .txt file exported from RMS into MYOB AccountRight Desktop.

 

Overview

This process allows you to import financial data from RMS into MYOB AccountRight Desktop using the Import/Export Assistant.

 

Steps Required

  1. Open the MYOB AccountRight Desktop Application.
  2. Go to File → Import/Export Assistant.MYOB AccountRight Desktop main window with the File menu open and the ‘Import/Export Assistant’ option highlighted.

  4. From the Import menu, choose General Journal Entries.MYOB Import/Export Assistant screen with a list of data types and ‘General Journal Entries’ selected as the import type.

  6. Set Tabs as the separator and ensure Headers or Labels is selected for the first line, then click Next.MYOB Import/Export Assistant import settings screen with ‘Tabs’ selected as the field separator and ‘Headers or Labels’ ticked for the first line of the file.
     
  7. Choose Auto Match, then click Next.MYOB Import/Export Assistant field mapping screen with the ‘Auto Match’ button selected, automatically matching import fields to MYOB fields.
     
  8. Select Backup to create a backup of your MYOB database. (Optional)

⚠ Important: Ensure the .txt file is correctly formatted before importing.

Backing up your database is strongly recommended before proceeding.
