The Night Audit utility consolidates the auditing process for the property's daily financial activities with opening a new accounting date and generating the necessary reports or financial extracts in RMS.

Properties that have selected Manual End of Day Processing in their accounting setup will use the Night Audit utility to complete this process.

The Night Audit utility is only used by properties that have selected Manual End of Day Processing in their accounting setup.

The utility will roll the Accounting Date to a new day, create the nightly rate on all required in-house reservations, as well as generate a Financial Export and update IDeaS for properties setup with these interfaces in RMS.

Guide

In RMS, go to Utilities > New Day/Night Audit.

1. Select a Property and choose 'Confirm'.
   Tip: You can click on the Reservation Numbers to go directly to the reservations in the "Departures not Checked-Out" and "Arrivals not Checked-In" columns before proceeding. This is Optional.   
   
    
2. Review & Update any remaining Departure Reservations.
   Tip: You can click on the Reservation or Account Number to go directly to that reservation. 
   
     
3. Review & Update any remaining Arrival Reservations.
   Tip: You can click on the Reservation or Account Number to go directly to that reservation.
   
    
4. Review & Update any In House Reservations without a Rate Type.
   
    
5. Select 'Update Nightly Rates'.
   This will post the Nightly Rate for any reservations staying inhouse tonight. 
   
    
6. Select 'New Day'.
   Selecting "New Day" will close the Financial Day for this Property and open the Next Financial Day. The Financial Date is separate from the Actual Date.
   
    
7. Select 'Yes' to open Reports. (Optional) 
   This will open the Debtors Ledger and Night Audit Reports for the period that you just closed.
