Information
The Promo Code on the RMS Booking Engine allows a guest to search for availability and make a reservation using a Discount or hidden Rate Type. In addition to this, the Promo Code allows guests to search for availability to book from a Group Allotment.

Important! The Discount Name is the Promo Code and is case-sensitive.
Tip! Discount options will vary based on the Discount Type selected.

-
RMS applies the Discount to the applicable Rates and adjusts the Rate accordingly.
Tip! The Discounts Report helps track RMS Booking Engine promotion activity, providing insights into usage and impact.
Using a Hidden Rate Type as a Promo Code
All Rate Types created in RMS can also be used as a Promo Code.
In the Channel Manager, for the RMS Book Now Button, any rates set to 'Access Allowed' will show on the RMS Booking Engine, and Rates that are set to 'No Access' are hidden.
But if the guest enters the Rate Type Description into the Promo Code field on the Booking Engine, the Hidden/No Access Rate Type is displayed as the only Rate Type available to them.
- Guests can enter a Rate or Derived Rate Type's Description as a Promo Code.
-
Optional: If you don't want this rate type to be used as a Promo Code, select 'Do Not Use As Promo Code'.
- In the Channel Manager Setup for the RMS Book Now Button, go to Available Rate Types.
- Find the Rate Type that you wish to use as a Promo Code.
-
Make sure it is in the 'No Access' column.
- Now, when the Rate Type is used as a Promo Code on the RMS Booking Engine,
-
The Promotional Rate Type is the only rate type that is displayed.
