Steps to connect the RMS Booking Engine channel in RMS.

Overview

The channel connection to the RMS Booking Engine determines the Availability, Rate Types, and other channel-specific information to be used by the RMS Booking Engine.

Configuring the connection in the Channel Manager is the final step before adding the Booking Engine URL to the Property website and receiving online reservations.

Additional options include setting a colour to represent reservations on the Booking Chart, selecting a Market Segment or Booking Source to populate on the reservations and an option to advertise the Nett Rate for Tax Exclusive properties.

Tip! The setup for the RMS Booking Engine must be completed before setting up the connection in the channel manager.

Activation

In the side menu of RMS, go to Setup > Online Bookings > Channel Management.

1. Select the 'Unconnected' View.
2. Highlight the 'RMS Book Now Button' channel.
3. Select the 'Connect' button.
   

Availability Options and Channel Colour

1. Navigate to the 'Options' menu.

2. Select an Availability option.

   • Do Not Use Allotments (Full Availability): Full Availability minus the number of areas held back from the category online options.
   • Channel Allotment: Channel Allotments are a preset amount of inventory that can be shared with the RMS Book Now Channel.
     Channel Allotments must be created after selecting the availability option.
   • Default Allotment: Default Allotments are a preset amount of inventory that can be shared with selected connected channels.
     Default Allotments must be created within Setup > Online Bookings > Default Allotments.

   Select a Colour (Optional).
   Select to Hide Reservations from the Guest Portal (Optional).
   Select a Market Segment to assign to reservations made through the Booking Engine (Optional).
   Select the checkbox 'Show Net Rate' (Optional).
   Select a Booking Source to assign to reservations made through the Booking Engine (Optional).

3. Select 'Save'.
   

Please Note! Areas are only held back when the Category has more than one Area. With Channel Allotment or Default Allotment selected, the allotment quantity itself is not reduced: the availability advertised is capped at the Category's availability minus the held back Areas, and that cap does not apply when the Category has Guaranteed Allotments Available Until Used enabled.

Important! The option 'Show Net Rate' is available for Tax Exclusive properties to advertise prices without tax amounts added on the RMS Booking Engine.

Available Rate Types

1. Navigate to the 'Available Rate Types' menu.
2. Highlight the Rate Types that will be advertised on the RMS Booking Engine.
3. Select 'Allocate' to assign the Rate Types. 
4. Select 'Save/Exit'.
