This guide explains how to redeem a Gift Card purchased through the RMS Gift Card module and apply it to a guest's reservation.
Overview
The Gift Card Portal allows properties to sell digital Gift Cards to guests via the RMS Booking Engine.
Gift Cards can only be purchased using RMS Pay or Windcave, and delivered digitally to the recipient.
When a Gift Card recipient wishes to use their Gift Card, they contact the property directly, and a User redeems the Gift Card within RMS and applies it to the reservation.

Before redeeming a Gift Card, it is important to understand how Gift Cards work in RMS:
- Gift Cards are digital only - there are no physical Gift Cards but the recipient is emailed the voucher.
- Gift Cards can be purchased by guests via the RMS Booking Engine using RMS Pay or Windcave.
- Gift Cards cannot be redeemed online by the recipient. The recipient must contact the property to make a booking.
- Redemption is a manual process completed by a User within RMS.
How to Redeem
When a Gift Card holder contacts the property, confirm the Gift Card details provided by the recipient (such as the Gift Card number, recipient name or email).
In the side menu of RMS, go to Accounting > Gift Cards.
- Select the Date Range of purchase.
- Select the Search Filter.
- Enter the text to Search.
- Click Search.
- Select the required Gift Card record.
- Select Add Reservation.
- Enter the required Guest Details.
- Complete the Reservation Details.
- Select Save.
- Click the Guest Account icon.
- Select Transfer.
- Select Balance Transfer.
- Select or enter the Destination Account.
- Enter the Amount to Transfer.
- Select the Destination Account.

Select Transfer.
The entered amount will be transferred to the selected account
