Channel Mapping Wizard for Manually Mapped Channels (REST API PUSH ARI)

Overview

The Channel Mapping Wizard assists Users to quickly create or update mapping between your RMS Categories/Rate Types and a Channel’s Room/Rate Codes – especially for REST API connections using PUSH ARI.

Instead of entering mapping row by row, you can:

• Manually map rows

• Import large mappings from CSV

• Use the wizard to auto-generate mappings from a list of RMS Categories and Rate Types

Existing mapping behaviour

If the property already has mapping:

• The system will set the “Map By” dropdown to match the current configuration in the mapping screen.

• The dropdown will be disabled to prevent users choosing a conflicting Map By option that could break existing mapping.

   

Important

• Connection information requirement

  • The Connection Information section must be completed and saved before the Mapping Wizard can be used.

  • For mapping by Area, the connection information for each Area’s mapping screen must also be prefilled and saved.

   

Wizard Mapping Options

You can choose one of three mapping methods:

Manual Mapping

Enter the channel’s room/rate codes directly into the mapping grid.

Use Manual Mapping when:

• Only a small number of mappings to set up or adjust.

• You need to fine‑tune a few rows after using CSV or the Wizard.

   

Import from CSV

Upload a CSV file to create or update mappings in bulk (ideal for properties with hundreds of mappings).

You can find a downloadable template at the bottom of this article.

CSV format

Use the sample CSV as a template:

The columns are:

• Column A: OTA Room Code

• Column B: OTA Rate Code

• Column C: RMS Category Code

  • Found in the Category Setup screen.

• Column D: RMS Area Code

  • Found in the Area Setup screen.

• Column E: RMS Rate Code

  • Found in the Rate Type Setup screen.

• Column F: “No Update” flag

  • 1 = Enable “No Update” (stop sending ARI for this mapping)

  • 0 = Disable “No Update”

Special rules

• Mapping by Property

  • Column D (Area Code) must always be 0.

• Mapping by Area

  • Columns C (Category Code) and D (Area Code) must both be > 0.

Select required Categories and Rate Types from list (Wizard)

For REST API PUSH ARI channels, select RMS Categories (room types) and Tariff Types (rate plans) from a list to auto-generate mappings.

Categories and Rate Types are selected to make available to the Channel.

The wizard will then auto-generate mapping entries using RMS Category Codes and Rate Type Codes.

Guide

In the side menu of RMS, go to Setup > Online Bookings > Channel Management.

1. Select the Channel from the Connected list of channels, or change the Status to Unconnected and select the Channel.
   
    

2. Enter the Connection Information.

3. Select Mapping Wizard.
   
    

4. Select the Mapping Method.
   
    

Method 1 – Manual Mapping

1. Select Manual Mapping.

2. Select Next.
   
    

3. Enter the Channel Code for all required Categories.

4. Select Next.
   
    

5. Enter the Channel Code for all required Rate Types.

6. Select Next.
   
    

7. Select the Saving Option.

8. Select Finish.
   
    

Method 2 – Import from CSV

1. Select Import from CSV.

2. Select Import CSV.
   Navigate to the CSV file and Open.
   (If the Next icon is not active, the file chosen may not be in the correct format).

3. Select Next.
   
    

4. Select the Saving Option.

5. Select Finish.
   
    

Method 3 – Select required Categories and Rate Types from list

1. Select Required Room Types and Rate Plans from list.

2. Select Next.
   
    

3. Select the Categories.

4. Select Allocate.

5. Select Next.
   
    

6. Select the Rate Types.

7. Select Allocate.

8. Select Next.
   
    

9. Select the Saving Option.

10. Select Finish.
    

Mapping

1. Select the Category for each mapping combination.

2. Select the Rate Type for each mapping combination.

3. Select 'Save'.
