Information on the Hold Over Departure Clean feature, and how to manage and update the status.
Overview
A 'Hold Over Departure Clean' is a Housekeeping Task setup as a 'Departure Clean' that has not been marked as completed the same day as the reservation checked out.
This evolution of the 'Departure Clean' task identifies areas that have been in 'Vacant Dirty' status for more than one day, and will appear on the Housekeeping Roster and the Housekeepers Report as a 'Holdover Departure Clean' until the task is marked completed or the Area Status is updated to 'Occupied' or 'Vacant Clean'.
If the area is not set to clean, the task rolls forward to the next day until it is marked as completed. This will rollover up to 5 times, and then the system automatically sets the area status to clean on the 6th day, regardless of the physical housekeeping status.
Reservation details, Linen, and any Housekeeping Notes will remain on the 'Departure Clean' task with the description updated to 'Hold Over Departure Clean' once the date rolls forward from the last reservation departure in that area.
Housekeeping Tab on a Reservation
The reservation Housekeeping tab displays 6 days after the departure date to ensure Hold Over Departure Cleans remain visible. If the area is not set to clean, the task rolls forward to the next day - this can occur up to 5 times. After 5 rollovers, the system automatically sets the area status to clean, regardless of the physical housekeeping status.
The Housekeeping tab on a reservation displays up to 7 days by default. For reservations longer than 7 days, the number of days displayed adjusts based on the length of stay, showing in increments of 14, 30, or 60 days.
