How to create a bookable "Add On" category.
Information
Add Ons are a Category Class available to manage extra bookable items that can be added to an existing reservation or booked independently.
Add Ons can be used to manage a set availability of additional items, including Car Parks, Roll-Away Beds, Cots, Boats, or Bicycles.
Add Ons can be viewed and booked with reservations on the Booking Chart, or Add On availability can be viewed and booked on the Add Ons Chart.
Setup Guide
In the Side Menu of RMS, go to Setup > Category/Area.
- Select Add.
- Enter the Add On Description.
Enter a Guest Description (Optional).
Enter a Long Description (Optional). - Select a General Ledger Account Code.
- Select the Class as Add On.
- Select the Booked By option.
Select the Extra Details tab to make selections for Icons and Colour. - Select Save.
- Select the Category Access and choose Apply.
- Navigate to the 'Area' tab.
- Select Quick Add.
- Enter the Add On Names.
- Select Save/Exit.
Optional Setup Items
Booking Times and Increments
If you intend to book Add Ons independently of a reservation, time restrictions may be required.
- Navigate to the Times tab
- Under Default Times
- Select a Default Arrival and Departure Time
- Select "Use Increment Times" (Minutes or Hours)
- Select a "Max Duration" (8 Hours is the Maximum duration)
Charges or Rates
To charge for an Add On, you will need an Add On specific Sundry Charge.
The traditional RMS Rate structure can not be used to charge for Add Ons.
