How to send a Pay By Link when using RMS Pay in RMS.

Overview

Pay By Link is a secure payment request that can be sent by SMS or email when using RMS Pay as the payment gateway in RMS.

The recipient can click the Pay By Link and be taken directly to a secure payment page with 3DS verification to complete payment. When the payment is confirmed, the payee will receive an emailed copy of the receipt. 

3DS verification requires an additional layer of authentication by the cardholder from their bank to verify the transaction. This assists in minimising card fraud and reduces the likelihood of a chargeback.

Payment will be processed using RMS Pay, with a Receipt automatically created on the account for the amount paid and a Network Token created on the Guest Profile to enable future payments.

Tip! Ensure that the Pay By Link option is activated at - Setup > Accounting > Accounting Options > Receipt Types tab.

Requirements

To send a Pay By Link, the Property must be setup to use RMS Pay as the payment gateway and have completed the Pay By Link setup.
To send a Pay By Link by SMS, the SMS module must be active.

Important! Pay By Links sent by email rely on your property’s email domain being verified in RMS and your SPF record including RMS. If these are not configured, guests may not receive the email and no error will be shown in RMS. See Email Domain Verification and SPF Records for Email Sending.

Tip! Select 'Quick Set' to select a preset period of time and automatically calculate the expiry date and time. The Pay By Link Expiry will default to 14 days from now on Pay By Link creation.

Send Pay By Link

1. Select Go to Account.
   
    
2. Select Receipt.
3. Select Pay By Link.
4. Select SMS or Email.
   
    
5. Select a Recipient.
6. Select a Pay By Link Expiry.
7. Enter a Receipt Amount.
   Enter a Transaction Comment (Optional).
8. Select Process.
   
    
9. Select Yes to confirm.
   

The Pay By Link will be sent to the selected recipient to request payment using the selected method.

The Pay By Link icon will display on the account when there is an active Pay By Link.
Select the Pay By Link icon to open Link History and view all pending Pay By Links on the account.

Tip! Current and past Pay By Links on an account can be viewed by selecting 'Link History' in the Receipt > Pay By Link menu.

3DS Verification

Payments made using a Pay By Link include 3DS verification, which requires an additional layer of verification by the cardholder with their bank to confirm the transaction.
