This article describes the Bookeasy channel connection in RMS, including the data exchanged between Bookeasy and RMS.

Overview

Bookeasy is an online booking channel that can be connected to RMS via the Channel Manager. Once connected, Bookeasy and RMS exchange availability, rate, restriction, and reservation data automatically.

This article outlines which data is sent and received between Bookeasy and RMS, and provides a reference for the supported and unsupported functions of the integration.

Key Points

• Bookeasy supports single reservations, group reservations, cancellations, but does not support reservation modifications.
• Email confirmations for bookings made through Bookeasy are sent by Bookeasy, not by RMS.

Important! Bookeasy does not support reservation modifications. If a guest needs to change their booking (for example, dates, room type, or guest count), the modification must be made manually in RMS. The original Bookeasy reservation should be updated directly on the reservation in RMS.

Connecting Bookeasy to RMS

To connect Bookeasy as a channel in RMS, follow the general Channel Connection process. This involves activating the channel in the RMS Channel Manager, mapping your properties, categories, and rate types, and then enabling the connection.

Bookeasy Connection Changes

Channel Manager "Access Keys" are replacing the Usernames and Passwords previously used to connect to Bookeasy in the channel manager. Access keys increase security and reduce connectivity issues.

Existing Connections: Current connections will still work without access keys. If they stop working, a new Access Key will need to be created and entered into the channel manager.

New Connections: New Bookeasy connections must create a channel manager access key. Each key is unique and should be entered as both the username and password in the channel manager.
