The Tax Audit Report provides a line-by-line breakdown of every charge or receipt transaction in RMS with its associated tax calculation, making it the primary tool for auditing TAX, VAT or GST activity for a selected date range.
Â
Overview
The Tax Audit Report is an accounting report in RMS that lists every transaction posted within a chosen date range alongside the tax applied to that transaction. It is used to reconcile tax liability, support external tax submissions, and verify the setup of Tax Methods against actual posted transactions.
The report title displayed on the output reflects the selected basis:
- Tax Audit Report - Accrual - generated when Charge is selected, showing tax on charges posted in the date range regardless of payment status.
- Tax Audit Report - Cash - generated when Cash is selected, showing tax on receipts (payments) received in the date range.
Depending on the property's region, the tax column heading may appear as TAX, VAT or GST. The report structure and functionality are the same in all cases.
The report can be built to screen, exported to CSV, or scheduled to email automatically using the Scheduled Reports functionality.
