How to Import Owner Charges via the Bulk Owner Charges utility.
Overview
Bulk Owner Charges enable applying AdHoc charges to multiple Owners in RMS.
These charges are separate from the recurring charges setup for End of Month Expenses.
Any charges to the owner can be applied throughout the month to ensure they are included in the end-of-month income distribution.
These Charges can be applied manually via the "Bulk Owner Charges" Utility or uploaded via a CSV (Excel) file.
Import File
Before you can perform an Import of Owner Charges, you will need to create the Import File.
There is a Template file attached to this Article that you can use for the Import.
For the import to work successfully, some important information to note is:
- The import file must be in a comma-delimited .csv format (Field Delimiter), see the Charge Import Template at the bottom of this article.
- If a Description field within this file contains commas, it should be surrounded with "double quotes" (Text Delimiter).
- Microsoft Excel can save using a .csv format that should match these requirements.
- RMS can determine whether the first record is a header record.
- Only one Sundry Charge per Area can be imported at a time. If you need to charge Multiple Sundry Charges to the same area(s), you will need to import a separate file for each Sundry Charge.
- If a Comment is added to the Import File and the Bulk Owner Charges Utility, both comments will show.
| Order | Field Name | Field Type | Required | Max Characters | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Area | Alpha Numeric | Y | 50 | Area / Site Code or Name (Must be Exactly the same as what is in RMS) |
| 2 | Comment | Alpha Numeric | Y | 100 | Any extra information about the transaction. |
| 3 | Amount | Numeric Only |
Y | The amount for the transaction. Should be a positive value and without the Currency symbol. |
