A guide for activating the FLYR Rate Manager module for Revenue Management in RMS.
Overview
FLYR is a revenue management platform that connects directly to RMS so you can price from a single source of truth.
By integrating FLYR with RMS, FLYR pulls your reservation and inventory data, models demand, and writes optimised rates back into RMS automatically — no manual rate loading, no spreadsheet handoffs.
FLYR’s dynamic pricing tools provide the following benefits:
- Automated Rate Updates: Optimised selling rates are written back into RMS automatically, removing manual rate loading.
- Detailed Forecasting: FLYR retrieves data at the individual booking level, allowing it to segment, pace, and forecast at a level of detail most PMS reports don’t expose.
- Read-Only Mode: Rate pushes stay off until you explicitly enable them, so you can build confidence in the recommendations first.
Please Note! RMS is highly configurable. Some Terminology, User Access & Permissions, Images, Labels, and Functions used in these articles may differ from your setup. CLICK HERE to find out more.
How the Integration Works
FLYR drives both sides of the connection. RMS does not send anything to FLYR; FLYR calls RMS on a scheduled basis to retrieve data and, separately, to apply rate changes.
- FLYR pulls your data from RMS: On each sync, FLYR retrieves reservation and inventory records at the individual booking level rather than pulling pre-aggregated summaries, then builds its own totals and KPIs from those records.
- FLYR writes rates back into RMS: Once you activate rate pushes, FLYR dynamically adjusts the selling rate for your Categories by overriding three things in RMS: the rate amount, the person base, and the minimum stay setting. Overrides are applied against your existing RMS rate structure — FLYR does not replace or rebuild your rate setup.
Setup Requirements
The following setup is required to use this feature in RMS:
- An account set up with FLYR, with the integration requested through your FLYR onboarding contact.
- The FLYR Rate Manager module active for your properties. Contact sales@rmscloud.com to add the module to your RMS subscription.
Setting Up the Connection
- Set up your account with FLYR and request the integration through your FLYR onboarding contact.
- Activate the FLYR Rate Manager module for your properties by contacting sales@rmscloud.com.
- FLYR validates the initial data pull and reconciles it against your RMS reports with you.
- Review and approve your pricing rules, floors, and ceilings in FLYR.
- Switch on rate pushes for the Categories you want FLYR to manage.
Please Note! Rate pushes stay off until you explicitly enable them, so you can run FLYR in read-only mode for as long as you’d like while you build confidence in the recommendations.
Limitations
‘Allow Moving Reservations Across Properties’ must be disabled.
RMS does not support this setting alongside any revenue management interface, including FLYR. Leaving it enabled risks inaccurate rate control and inconsistent data being read into FLYR. If you rely on cross-property reservation moves today, raise it with your FLYR onboarding contact early so FLYR can plan around it.
Understanding Small Differences Between FLYR and RMS Reports
Because FLYR aggregates from transaction-level records, minor variances against RMS reports are normal. FLYR treats data as accurate within 1% at the monthly level.
If a number looks off, check the report first — RMS reports don’t all draw on the same data FLYR pulls through the integration.
To validate:
- Pull the History and Forecast Report from RMS.
- Export to Excel and use net values throughout.
- Widen your date range beyond the dates in question — if the gap appears around 12–15 October, pull all of October. Comparing a narrow window against a report that spans differently will often create a discrepancy that isn’t really there.
Troubleshooting
- Rates aren’t updating in RMS: Check that the FLYR Rate Manager module is still active on your RMS subscription, that rate pushes are enabled for the affected Categories, and that no manual override has been applied in RMS after the last push.
- A number doesn’t match: Work through the validation steps above. If the variance still exceeds 1% for the month, contact FLYR Support with the RMS export attached and the specific dates and Categories involved.
- FLYR data hasn’t updated: If recent bookings are missing, the sync itself has likely failed rather than the data being mapped incorrectly. See PMS–FLYR data discrepancy: data not matching for diagnosis steps.
